Dan Desmond - Head Coach: Dan is entering his eighth season with the Icehounds program, his fourth as Head Coach of the Gold team. In his first season as Head Coach, Dan led the Gold Icehounds to the Hoosier league Championship as well as the 2016 Indiana Class 4A State Championship. Prior to leading the Gold team, Dan was the Head Coach of the Blue team from 2012 to 2015, leading them to two ISHSHA State Championships - 2012 (2A) and 2014 (1A). Dan grew up and played travel, high school and junior hockey in the Chicagoland area. He has been heavily involved in the Indianapolis hockey community since 1996 in various capacities - including Head and Assistant coach at the house, high school, A, AA and AAA levels and has also served as Coach in Chief on the IYHA board. Dan led the 1992 Racer/Checkers AA/AAA team for several years, which successfully advanced to Mid-Am District Finals, won a State Championship, and a CSDHL League Title. Dan was an assistant coach on the 94 AA Racer team that advanced to the Silver Stick Finals and Tier II National's in Frisco, Texas in 2010. Dan and his family reside in Carmel. Dan works in the aerospace industry, as Director of New Product Development for a large aftermarket parts supplier.

Mario Doyon - Assitant Coach

Brad Minnick - Assistant Coach: Brad Minnick is entering his third season with the Gold team coaching staff. Brad has been a critical part of back to back Hoosier League and Indiana State Championships in his first two seasons as a member of the Gold team staff. During his time as a player in the Carmel program Brad won three consecutive state championships including a game winning goal in a 3-2 win over St. Joe's his senior year as captain. In addition to his success a part of the Carmel Icehounds, Brad was a part of two teams that made a deep run in the National Championship tournament for the Indianapolis Checkers and Racers. Following his high school career, Brad played three seasons at Indiana University. Brad currently lives in Carmel and works at Paramount School of Excellence in Indianapolis.

ICE HOUNDS BLUE

Tyler "Taz" Douthitt -Blue Head Coach & Goaltending Coach (Gold and Blue):

Coach Douthitt is entering his fifth year with the Carmel organization. Taz has been a critical part of the coaching staff and contributed to 4 State titles in his four seasons with Carmel - Blue 1A (2014), Gold 5A (2015), Blue 2A (2016) and Gold 4A (2016). Coach Douthitt transitioned to the head coach position for the

2019-20 season & continues to serve as the Goaltending Coach for both teams. Coach Taz grew up playing for Coach Desmond playing at both the AA and AAA levels as a part of the 92 Checkers/Racers, winning the CSDHL league tournament in 2007. He played high school 3 years for Lawrence, as the starting goaltender for all three years while attending Scecina Memorial High School. He was also selected to the U-16 Hoosier wings team.
